Software provider IFS is to partner with Claude-developer Anthropic, Siemens, and US robotics firms Boston Dynamics and 1X Technologies to expand the use of AI in industry.
The partnerships were announced at IFS’s annual event, IFS Unleashed in New York today, and aim to integrate AI into robots, factories and power grids.
Speaking at the event, Mark Moffat, CEO of IFS said, “The opportunity for robotics working with AI is an infinite workforce. This could solve some of the labour crunches we see today.”
The partnership with Anthropic will launch an AI product called Resolve that puts “industry-specific AI directly into the hands of frontline workers”, said IFS.
“Anthropic understands the massive opportunities and the risks of AI. It’s not about reselling Claude, we are creating new capabilities for the workforce we serve,” said Moffat.
“The industries and customers we support run mission-critical operations. There is no room for error or hallucinations. We have to be 99.99999% right, or there is risk to life and aircraft are grounded,” he added.
AI and enterprise software provider IFS launched its Nexus Black service earlier this year to help industrial companies deploy AI into their operations and systems.
Applying IFS Industrial AI to robots
The partnerships with Boston Dynamics and 1X Technologies will integrate IFS AI software into robots for use in remote working, factories and warehouses.
IFS will work with 1X to develop and deploy humanoid robots for use in aviation and manufacturing, amongst other sectors. The collaboration will provide select customers with production-ready robots said the companies.
The IoT-enabled robots will feed operational data into IFS.ai, combining robotic hardware with intelligent maintenance orchestration, and applications for warehousing in areas such as aviation MRO to utility maintenance.

Jorge Milburn, executive vice president of sales and operations at 1X Technologies said, “By integrating our humanoids with IFS.ai, we’re building solutions where robots don’t just operate in isolation, they understand operational context, adapt to changing conditions, and deliver data that drives better decisions across the enterprise.”
The partnership with Boston Dynamics will connect Boston’s Spot robots to IFS enterprise data systems, for use in inspecting industrial assets and capturing critical operational data in real-time.
Spot uses thermal cameras to detect overheating, can listen to air or gas leaks, read analog gauges for pressure and flow, check indicator lights, identify hazards like spills, or detect voltage anomalies.
Claude applied to Industrial AI creates Resolve
The partnership with Anthropic will bring Claude to bear in the industrial world as part of a product called Resolve.
According to IFS, Resolve will reflect the realities facing technicians and workers across the aerospace and defense, construction and engineering, manufacturing, energy, utilities and telecoms sectors.
Resolve’s capabilities will include:
- Predicting and preventing faults faster by interpreting multi-modal data such as video, audio, temperature & pressure, and complex schematics.
- Connecting technicians to the right part, in the right place with optimized scheduling.
- Preventing future faults, reducing paperwork and collecting valuable data with voice recognition and automatic transcription.
Resolve will help solve issues such as lost expertise and ageing infrastructure with scalable, high-impact AI solutions designed for industrial applications said IFS.
Garvan Doyle, applied AI lead at Anthropic said, “We combine frontier AI capabilities with the safety and reliability that industries require. IFS has expertise in the complex realities of the industrial world – they have proven they can activate and apply AI in capital intensive and asset heavy environments. Together, we’re deploying AI where stakes are highest.”
Kriti Sharma, CEO at IFS Nexus Black said, “These hardcore industries are where the real AI revolution is happening. It’s not the AI of tabloid headlines. It’s the lifeline for the workers that keep the lights on, the cupboards stocked, and the world turning.”
In addition, the partnership with Siemens will work on introducing AI into autonomous power grids by integrating IFS’s AI-powered enterprise asset management, field service, and asset investment planning capabilities with Siemens’ Gridscale X solutions.
