Bell will display a full-size mockup of its MV-75 Cheyenne next-generation vertical lift aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow this week.
The US Army’s newest vertical lift asset will be shown alongside two aircraft from Bell’s commercial lineup, the Bell 505 and Bell 407GXi, on static display.
Bell said the MV-75 Cheyenne offers speed, range and multi-mission adaptability intended to help operators mass combat power while reducing exposure in contested environments.
The MV-75 is the successor to Bell’s V-280 Valor which in 2022 was chosen by the US Army as the winner of its Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program to replace the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk. Eight aircraft have initially been ordered for testing and evaluation.
“Having an opportunity to showcase MV-75 Cheyenne allows us to demonstrate its transformational capabilities,” said Jeff Schloesser, senior vice president, strategic pursuits at Bell. “We will highlight how it meets the evolving needs of modern military operations.”
The aircraft’s Modular Open Systems Approach is designed to allow the platform to be updated as requirements change. Bell said the approach is intended to let the MV-75 evolve alongside future battlefield demands.
The Bell 505 serves as a training platform for militaries in Jamaica, Jordan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Montenegro, Albania, Indonesia, Iraq and South Korea, with more than 700 aircraft in service since its introduction in 2017. “Bell’s commercial platforms continue to redefine what customers can expect from modern rotorcraft,” said Robin Wendling, managing director, Europe at Bell.
Bell is exhibiting at pavilion A031 at the airshow.
