United Electronic Industries (UEI) has integrated the Intel x6425RE quad-core processor into its family of programmable automation controllers, boosting performance for aerospace, defense, and automated testing applications.
The 64-bit quad-core architecture runs at 1.9GHz with a 20W power draw, supporting 8GB of RAM, 32GB of eMMC storage, and an M.2 slot for NVMe solid-state drives of 320GB or more. The system runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise or Rocky Linux 9.2.
The controllers operate across a temperature range of -40 to 185°F (-40 to 85°C) and carry a 10-year availability guarantee from United Electronic Industries (UEI). Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports support IEEE-1588 and time-sensitive networking (TSN) standards for precise timing and low-latency communication.
Engineers can run LabVIEW applications directly on the controller, eliminating external PCs and reducing latency. The platform also supports C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and Simulink, and is compatible with more than 90 I/O and avionics boards.
Security features include Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 for hardware-based data protection.
“Precision timing, deterministic performance, and secure control are essential in today’s embedded systems,” said Alex Ivchenko, director of engineering at UEI. “With the Intel x6425RE processor, our customers gain a future-proof platform built for modern automation.”
