Element has acquired UK-based materials testing company NDT Limited, which greatly increases its non-destructive testing (NDT) services in Europe.
NDT’s UKAS and Nadcap-accredited laboratory provides a comprehensive range of NDT, mechanical and metallurgical testing including ultrasonic immersion inspection, ultrasonic contact inspection, dye penetrant inspection, magnetic particle inspection, radiographic inspection and eddy current inspection.
NDT’s managing director, Tim Elwell, said that the company is very excited to partner with Element: “Since 1986, NDT Ltd has held a strong reputation and market position, and through Element’s Engaged Experts and innovation in advance testing solutions, the acquisition is an ideal fit in terms of further enhancing our capabilities to our customers.”
Charles Noall, president and CEO, Element, said, ”We are delighted to enter this agreement with NDT, our first laboratory that specializes in immersion ultrasonic testing (IUT) in Europe. In the last few years, we have invested heavily in building our aerospace testing presence in Europe, including the relocation of our Sheffield laboratory to a new state-of-the art facility, and the acquisitions of Exova, TEAMS in Seville, Spain, and the materials testing (MT) laboratories of DNV GL in Germany.
“Currently there is a very high demand from aerospace primes and the medical device sector to provide expanded capacity for IUT and with this investment we are now able to provide our customers with a single service provider for both materials testing and non-destructive testing services.”
