A380 test pilot draws Christmas tree in the sky over Germany

The test flight crew of an Airbus A380 has brought unexpected festive cheer to the aviation sector in the build-up to Christmas by flying over Germany in the shape of a giant Christmas tree.

The A380, which has the temporary registration F-WWAE and will be delivered to Emirates, departed from Hamburg-Finkenwerder at 1:00pm CET on December 13 and landed at 5:00pm.

The flight, which was tracked by website flightradar24.com, drew a tree over hundreds of miles from Hamburg to Stuttgart in the south of the country.
