Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Non-Destructive Testing Technician to safely perform a combination of ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle testing and if qualified, X-Ray unit radiography or liquid penetrant testing services for our customers. Work is to be performed in accordance with established Safety and QA procedures, as well as customer specifications and requirements. May also perform routine testing in other areas of the lab.

Responsibilities
Read and understand specifications and create proper inspection techniques
Conduct a variety of inspections using established methods. Most tasks are performed in the laboratory
Interprets, evaluates and documents test results; oversees work performed by trainees and Level 1 technicians
Prepares test specimens, sets up and adjusts test equipment and records test data
Maintain related test equipment, tools, and machinery in good working condition
Operate Fork Truck
May occasionally function in the role of Test Technician in other areas of the lab
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED, experience in NDT or materials testing preferred
SNT-TC-1A and NAS410 or ASNT Certifications in magnetic particle testing and ultrasonic testing required
SNT-TC-1A and NAS410 or ASNT Certifications in X-Ray unit radiography and liquid penetrant preferred
Radiation Safety Officer Experience preferred
Must have valid Driver’s License, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment
3+ years’ experience in Nondestructive testing
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. occasional
Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
Work is performed mainly indoors
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
Well-developed oral and written communication skills to meet a variety of communication needs
