Meet the Boom Supersonic flight test team

Even the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic couldn’t mute the fanfare that surrounded Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 prototype last month.

If you haven’t heard about it yet the details on the world’s first independently-developed supersonic jet can be found here. In brief, the prototype for Boom’s planned Overture airliner, the XB-1 is expected to fly for the first time next year.

What you may have missed though is this great video featuring Boom’s flight test team released at the same time as XB-1’s roll-out.  During the short video they discuss their approach to flight testing, from the build-up using a simulator to the flight test instrumentation, control room setup, safety, training and the aircraft’s manoeuvring characteristics.
