Bored during lockdown? Why not build your own desktop windtunnel!

If you have significant amounts of time on your hands because of Covid-19 lockdowns or self-isolation, you could build your own wind tunnel, like Mark Waller, from Crowborough in the UK.

Mark’s wind tunnel has a small fan to draw air through with a ventura made from foam and drinking straws at the other end. Smoke is generated from an e-cigarette and injected into the illuminated chamber with a pump, while the object under test can be rotated to observe changes in air flow.

The setup is surprisingly effective for something produced for fun. Make sure you check out the video above, including the slow-motion video of the results.
