Testia has launched the latest version of its ultrasonic, eddy current and resonance non-destructive testing device the Smart UE1.

This wireless device weighs just 2kg and offers both capabilities in one, allowing NDT inspectors to travel with all their tools comprised in a single device.

The Smart UE1 provides three main tests with five optional modules to detect various types of indications such as delaminations, disbondings, fatigue cracks and lack of cladding as well as thickness and coating measurements. It can also offer remote assistance and be connected to a stand-alone Go/No Go tool: the CladTool.

The Smart UE1 has been designed especially for Aerospace use and can either be used by certified NDT inspectors or B1 mechanics said the company, and the plurality of applications makes the Smart a tool which will save time and effort say Testia.
