About the Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Environmental Test Technician at our Orlando, Florida laboratory. In this position you will be a part of a team representing Sypris Test & Measurement by providing customer service and technical expertise to meet our customer's testing specifications.

Scope:
Perform duties to conduct specified environmental tests of any range of products or devices for commercial, military, medical or consumer customers, within the limitation of standard methods and procedures. Perform duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
• Gather and set up the required fixtures. Follow procedures to conduct the test. Secure product in chamber and program chamber according to test plan.
• Observe and monitor products under test. Change charts, document unusual circumstances and consult with engineer. Ensure that data is being collected accurately.
• Review the results, determine if product passed or failed each test, and assign off on the test plan
• Read electrical circuits to determine basic electrical requirements. Solder test cables on to product under test; apply current per test plan and record data reflecting results.
• Work from test plans, purchase orders, tables, charts, drawings, lab sheets, standards, specification and instructions.
• Review the test plans and customer requirements and select the proper test procedures and combined environments. Determine the fixturing and test sets required.
• Order and maintain environmental testing supplies.
• May perform routine preventative maintenance or minor repairs on test equipment, or interact with vendor providing maintenance services to explain problems. May fabricate fixtures for use in specific test procedures as necessary.
• Prepare labor sheets for the job, organize charts and ensure documental in is compliance with procedures.
• Communicate with customers regarding status of tests or to receive parts for testing.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

• US Citizen or US Permanent Resident Status required.
• AS degree in Electronics preferred or other related technical field and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in the environmental product testing field.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD 810, 883, 750, 202 tests; DO160 Tests and IEC Specifications
• Knowledge of electro-dynamic shakers and chambers.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with the customer overseeing the testing.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Ability to lift 30 – 50lbs.
