MDS Aero Support Corporation - Gas-Turbine Test Cell Engineer

MDS Aero Support Corporation has an opportunity for a Gas-Turbine Test Cell Engineer.

The Test Cell Engineer shall assist in the design and integration of data acquisition hardware and software. This involves reviewing engine manufacturer test procedures and tailoring the data acquisition system to meet these requirements.

Reporting to the Manager, Applications Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

General Duties

• Ensuring that all client test requirements are met and demonstrating knowledge of how engine tests are performed.
• Lead client's test cell environments with the operation of data acquisition systems.
• Measure relevant parameters and configure data acquisition systems on screen.

Specific Departmental or Project Duties
• Preparing Engineering Specifications for data acquisition software components.
• Participate in on-site installation and commissioning of data acquisition systems and customer support and training (international travel).
• Use knowledge of test cell environment to guide other departments in the interpretation of customer requirements, and the required designs to meet the requirements.

Qualifications
• An engineering degree with a minimum three (3) to seven (7) years experience working with gas turbine engines in a test cell environment. This gas turbine experience is a must.
• A working knowledge of test cells, engines and hardware/software within a test environment. Please be able to demonstrate, in your resume, the test cell environments where you have gained your testing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership ability, with growth opportunities to management.
• Experience with gas turbine engine instrumentation, measurement hardware and data acquisition hardware/software is required.
• A thorough understanding of test calculations/performance limits and other Test Acceptance criterion for gas turbine engines is essential.
• Solid understanding of gas turbine engine operations and design fundamentals.
